No Secret Magic Pills Here, Just Drive and Determination!
There is no magic pill that will help you get to your goal without any risks to your health. If there are people who claim to have found the wonder drug that will help you achieve your weight loss goal, you should always ask yourself, what am I giving up? What am I sacrificing?
Sure, you may manage to lose weight with the hyped “magic pill” wonder drugs that have currently flooded the market but you need to be aware that you will usually have to give up something and unfortunately it may be your health.
Do not play Russian roulette with your health. There are side effects associated with some of these wonder drugs and you need to be careful.
However, what I am willing to share with you today is gold. It will require that you put all your effort into it. If your heart is not where your mind is, then you will not be able to achieve this goal. Make sure your heart and mind are together.
So how do you manage to lose this weight?
Well there are three principles that you need to apply to your plan in order to achieve your weight loss goal.
Diet, Exercise and Fasting…….
Here me out. I know there are millions of people who have discussed about these three principles on YouTube and other social media platforms but none of them have done it my way.
You and I know that most people are aware of these three principles but in most cases they leave out what I consider to be the most important ingredient to the recipe.
This ingredient I used during my journey towards my goal and that enabled me to lose 44 pounds in 6 weeks was MIND SET. Yes that it right, mindset.
Very few people have had the privilege of harnessing and using the power of their minds to their own advantage. The way you think and view life will determine the trajectory of your life.
As a healthcare clinician with 20 years of experience who cares for patients with the most debilitating illnesses, I have witnessed how mind set determines the trajectory to recovery.
Therefore, your weight loss journey begins in your mind.
I discovered that our minds play an important part in our actions. How we think shapes our outward actions and reactions. Everything begins in our minds, which then results in how we perceive the world around us.
You Will Never Lose Weight if you cannot control your Mind.
You need to understand that most of our life battles are fought in our minds and this happens before they translate into the physical world. Your psychological well-being plays an important on how you perceive the world and interact with others.
So you may know the ingredients or the formula to weight loss which are Diet, Exercise and Fasting…….but guess what?…… you will never lose weight if your mindset is not right. Then, what should you do?
If you want to lose weight you need to condition your mind!
A imagined action activates an internal cognitive representation that is the same as the cognitive representation underlying the “actual” action (see Holmes & Collins, 2001).
You can only achieve this by imagining that you have already reached your goal. This can be done by closing your eyes and seeing yourself in your mind as how you would want to look at the end of that journey. Remember, conditioning your mind is a very important step towards losing weight. It may sound like a silly thing to do, however, it works!
When you go to the gym without the right mindset you will most unlikely achieve your goals. Many of people have gym memberships but they never attend. I am guilty too. I paid for a gym membership for 12 months but only attended less than 10 visits.
I eventually realized that I had to change something and that started by imagining what I wanted to be like. I began looking for famous people who had already achieved what I wanted to achieve.
I began listening to their audio books, and David Goggins comes to mind.
